Creating Lasting Change Through Service and Fellowship

Founded in 1986, the Rotary Club of Woodinville is made up of people as diverse as the community we serve. Our unique Tri-Club model unites Northshore Interact (high school), Northshore Rotaract (college and young professionals), and Rotarians to create a stronger and more connected community.

We are a Peacebuilder Club of neighbors, colleagues, business owners, and friends, all sharing a deep commitment to service. While Service Above Self guides everything we do, we also embrace a defining truth that has shaped our club since the beginning: Having fun is serious business.

Since our founding, we’ve raised more than $3 million to support local, regional, and international initiatives. Whether we’re volunteering side by side in our community, supporting youth leadership, protecting our environment, or funding projects across borders, our work reflects both purpose and heart. Our members give not only financially, but also through their time, energy, and talents to create lasting change.

How a Tiny Town Inspired our Big Motto

It all began in Grace, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stretch of road between Highway 9 and SR 522, just outside Woodinville.

In 1993, Woodinville Rotarians discovered that the historic Town of Grace had nearly vanished from memory. With a sense of humor and a deep love of community, they brought it back, not only as a forgotten place on the map but as a celebration of pure levity. With a population of 12, they appointed a mayor, police chief, grand marshal, and more, all in the name of service and fun.

Soon came parades, celebrations, a newspaper, a toll booth, billboards, youth scholarships, and even a tongue-in-cheek winery that still grows and harvests grapes today. Local media soon joined in, and Grace became a symbol of what happens when a community comes together with joy and purpose. That spirit stuck, and so did our motto:

Having Fun Is Serious Business.

Today, we continue to serve with generosity, purpose, and a healthy dose of laughter, because when people truly enjoy doing good together, amazing things happen.
