Good Morning Woodinville Rotary! President Keith recapped the Celebrate Woodinville Winterfest weekend, welcomed guests and opened the meeting with announcements.
Our friend, Thomas Quigley, invited all to celebrate the spirit of the season with members and friends of the Sammamish Valley Grange at their Annual Holiday Party with wreath making and dinner, Wednesday, December 6th, 2017 from 6-8 PM.
Congratulations to Ben Willins on receiving his red badge and also to Marilyn on her official blue badge. Our club is better because of their unique gifts and talents of these fine Rotarians. Welcome to the club!
Our guest speaker today was Annie Crawley who spoke passionately on “Oceans and You” challenging everyone to consider alternatives to using plastics. Visit her website, www.AnnieCrawley.com to learn more.
Award winning producer, underwater photographer, author, and motivational speaker, Annie Crawley, inspires. She founded Dive Into Your Imagination creating a series of Books, eBooks, DVDs, lesson plans, prints, posters, cartoon characters and more products to entertain, educate, and awe you about life within our ocean. Empowering audiences, delivering powerful programs tailored to corporate, group, school, or individual needs. Annie Crawley is a member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame. Traveling as a scuba diving instructor around the world with a camera in hand, she shares the ocean with you. Take a deep dive and explore.
As a professional youth speaker at schools, Annie transport students on an imaginary dive around the world while encouraging an understanding of life lessons about respect, responsibility, trust and character. Engaging their imagination with images of sharks, turtles, coral reefs and kelp forests we explore our world. I encourage students to face personal fears, express their imagination, breathe differently and think before acting.
The seven words that have guided Annie include patience, persistence, perseverance and passion combined with faith, courage, and enthusiasm.
Check out one of her ocean videos.
