In line with the current Environmental Quarter “Saving Water, Saving Energy” we are once again partnering with Mid Sound Fisheries for  a work party on Saturday, October 28 from 9am – 12 noon.

This event will involve removing Himalayan blackberry from the banks of the Sammamish River, as well as “sheet mulching”, a process involving layering cardboard over the newly cleared soil, and covering the cardboard with mulch. This will help suppress the growth of reed canarygrass in the disturbed soil.

Sign up to participate and help restore native habitat to promote our Salmon populations. Exact location will be forthcoming but it will be along the river banks near the old Redhook Brewery.
